Creamy Pork Chop with Saffron and Mascarpone Sauce

Ingredients (Serving 2 Portions people):

• 1/2 packet Sun’s Secret Saffron powder
• 10 – 12 oz. boneless pork chops
• 1 shallot, chopped
• 2 tbsp. Mascarpone cheese
• 2 tbsp. butter
• 1/2 cup vegetable/ meat stock
• 1 oz. lean smoked pancetta or speck, diced
• fresh parsley
• Salt pepper, to taste

“Boneless pork chops with saffron are a go-to weeknight option”. This special recipe is quick and easy to make in about 30 minutes and they’re too perfect to miss.


Steps to make this especial recipe by the method of Sun’s Secret Kitchen

  • STEP 1:

First, season pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides or any spices you like. Then heat a skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil to the pan.

  • STEP 2:

Once pan is hot, you can sear the pork chops on both sides until browned and cooked. Then, remove pork chops to a plate and set aside please.

  • STEP 3:

At this stage, add the honey to the skillet and whole grain mustard and garlic and whisk until combined.  Then, add in the heavy cream and milk and again whisk |& bringing to a simmer. Season with salt and pepper or any your desired spice, to taste.

  • STEP 4:

Next, combine the cornstarch and 1 tbsp. water in a small dish and whisk into the sauce, allowing it to thicken. Then, return pork chops to the sauce and garnish with the freshly chopped parsley.

Cooking Notes & Tips:

  • Note 1: If you used stock that had already salt in it you might not need to add any extra salt.
  • Note 2: If you use saffron threads instead of powder, steep them first in 2 tbsp. of water, drain and add to stock together with Mascarpone.
